Professional Biofeedback Training & Mentoring
The study of biofeedback can be an exciting learning adventure and can prepare you to bring a valuable mind-body treatment to your practice. You may wish to start with the didactic training course offered by Dr. De Bease. Practical skill training is available in person or through distance learning using web on-line interfacing. Dr. DeBease is an approved BCIA (Biofeedback Certification International Alliance at www.bcia.org) mentor in both general and EEG biofeedback and can assist you in BCIA exam preparation.
You can arrange an independent study through your school and take the didactic training course in biofeedback. This course meets the BCIA didactic requirement called the Blueprint of Knowledge and is approved by the American Psychological Association for 45 CE credits.
Dr. DeBease is available to train, teach and present at your location. She has been a guest speaker at business presentations, on the radio, and at many conferences advancing the notions of peak performance, stress management and the body-to-mind connection.
Practical Skills Training/Mentoring (BCIA)
Distance and/or face-to-face skills training in biofeedback is provided in the following modalities: sEMG, Peripheral Temperature, Skin Conductance, Heart Rate Variability, Respiration, and Neurofeedback. On-line training is provided through the use of remote desktop sharing software. As a practicing clinician for over 25 years, Dr. De Bease will share her knowledge of how to run a successful practice. She will also provide you with her many assessment forms and patient handouts so you can get up and running quickly and effortless in your work. You can work with Dr. De Bease for some or all of you required mentoring hours for BCIA certification (BCIA permits applicants to have up to 3 mentors in meeting their mentoring requirements).
Workshops for health professionals that want to learn how to use psychophysiological methods and biofeedback training. Morning sessions involve a didactic lecture. In the afternoon, participants are given hand-on training. This 1-day workshop is a basic introduction to biofeedback and psychophysiological interventions in a therapeutic setting.
BCIA Exam Preparation in General Biofeedback
For individuals who are preparing for BCIA certification in general biofeedback, this 1.5 hour Skype session will provide a step-by-step review of the Expanded BCIA Blueprint of Knowledge and an overview of the BCIA core reading list. Strategies to become successful with exam preparation will also be provided. Cost: $150
