Diagnostics
Diagnostics
takes on a whole new level of challenge when you take into consideration
the biological, psychological and behavioral origins of disorders
and disease. We know that prolonged periods of stress can bring
on and/or exacerbate disorders/disease. Also, chronic illness
often created a great amount of emotional pain.
Psychophysiological
Stress Profiling
The
Psychophysiological Stress Profile (PSP) assesses a person's habitual
response patterns to stress. We measure the level of psychophysiological
reactivity as well as the rate and level of recovery.
For each person,
a unique "profile report is generated along with a treatment
recommendation. Each profile will reveal a pattern, which responds
best to specific intervention.
Many times,
doctors as well as patients order the PSP diagnostic test to assist
in the selection of treatment options. It's also great in determining
whether biofeedback therapy will be helpful. Certain patterns
are not best treated with biofeedback.
Neurological
Assessments - EEG
The EEG-biofeedback assessment involves an investigation of correlation
"markers" regarding brain wave patterns. It will provide
valuable information in differentiating the various subtypes within
major diagnostic disorders such as ADD,
ADD - Attention Deficit Disorder ODD,
ODD - Oppositional Defiant Disorder PTSD
PTSD - Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and OCD.
OCD - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Also, Dr. DeBease works
closely with several neurologists who provide standard EEG and
Quantitative EEG assessments
when necessary. No patient will be treated for epilepsy without
a complete neurological work up.
Ergonomic
Assessments
Dr. DeBease follows the ergonomic assessment protocols
designed by Drs. Eric Peper and Vietta Wilson. Often these assessments
are done right in the office/work station to identify ergonomic
risks.
